Speaker Bio’s
Stephen Ferguson, CRM StephenFerguson Stephen Ferguson is an Associate Vice President and the Corporate Records Officer at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.   Steve was part of a team that created the Nationwide Records & Information Management Department in 2006 and has led the department since its inception.  In his current role, Steve is focused on the intersection of information management compliance and practical business solutions which enable his business clients to achieve their objectives.

A lawyer by training, Steve joined Nationwide in 1997 and has served in a variety of legal roles prior to his current position.  A graduate of the University of New Orleans and Rutgers Law School, Steve is also a Certified Records Manager and holds his Series 6 securities registration.Steve has spoken at numerous industry conferences and events and was recognized as a Nationwide CEO award winner in 2012.  He has two teenage children and lives with his wife of 25 years in Columbus Ohio.

Martin Susec, CRMMartinSusec Martin Susec works within the Discovery Management Unit (DMU) of the Litigation Practice Group (LPG) of Nationwide where he advises and supports fellow attorneys and business units, including the Records & Information Management Unit (RIM), on the proper management of information within the enterprise.  In that capacity, he handles a variety of electronic discovery and information management matters and proactively assists in reducing corporate litigation costs and risks.  Martin researches and consults on new and proposed laws, standards, or regulatory trends within the field of information management and also identifies risks presented by proposed actions of the business.  Upon request, Martin also advises, drafts, and negotiates agreements between Nationwide and its vendors regarding information management.

Mr. Susec graduated from The Ohio State University College of Business with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and International Business in 1992 and the University of Akron School of Law in 1996.  While attending law school, Martin earned a Masters of Business Administration in Finance at Akron’s College of Business.  After law school, Martin worked for ten years at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office where he specialized in public records law.

Mr. Susec is a Certified Record Manager (CRM) and has given several presentations before national conferences within the information management industry.  Martin is admitted to practice law in Ohio, the U.S. Fifth and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the Northern and Southern U.S. District Courts of Ohio.  Martin is also an active member of ARMA International.

Kim PerdewKimPerdew Kim Perdew works as a Compliance Consultant in the Records & Information Management Department at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. In that role, she is responsible for the yearly electronic destruction process, including the development and implementation of enhancements to the destruction application. She also works with Nationwide associates on various projects to integrate RIM practices into their organizations.

Kim graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelors degree in Family Resources – Interior Design. After a career in Interior Design, Kim changed her career focus and worked as the Assistant Clerk of Court for the City of Reynoldsburg before coming to Nationwide in 2005, joining RIM in 2007.She is an active member of the Greater Columbus chapter of ARMA, previously serving as the Director of Education and Interim Seminar Director. Kim currently sits on the Board of Directors as the Vice-President/President Elect.
