In the session Nationwide Mutual History and the Function of the History & Archives Center, Steve Hausfeld will provide a brief overview of the history of Nationwide Mutual and the evolution of the archives/heritage management function for the organization. He will also discuss the current History & Archives Center, the systems used, and the functions which it serves the organization.

Steve came to Nationwide in 2006 as corporate archivist to reestablish the archives and heritage functions for Nationwide. Prior to coming to Nationwide, Steve established the archives for the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, D.C., and earlier worked in heritage management consulting. Steve holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University (1995), Master of English with Public History Certificate from Wright State University (1998), and a Master of Science in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University (2010). Steve has previously served on the program committee for the 2021 Society of American Archivists (SAA) annual conference and as Chair of the Business Archives Section of SAA. He lives in Lewis Center with his wife and two children, Carter (17) and Sydney (13).
