Session Descriptions and Speaker Information
- Session 1: Combatting Money-Laundering, Financial Crimes and Other White-Collar Crimes
- Description: This session will provide an overview and introduction of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and will discuss financial crimes and white-collar case studies. The audience will learn about the Bank Secrecy Act, what money laundering is and how financial institutions help law enforcement combat financial crime.
- Speakers
- Kerri Bashore,
- CAMS, CFE, ALMI
- Sr. Director, Financial Crimes Compliance, Nationwide Insurance
- Kerri Bashore started her career as a Senior Regulatory Risk Consultant at the accounting firm Crowe, specializing in anti-money laundering audits. She joined Nationwide in 2011 with the Internal Audit department, transitioning soon after to work within the Office of Compliance Ethics in 2013 as a Consultant in the Financial Crimes Compliance department. In 2017, Kerri was promoted to be the strategic leader for the Financial Crimes Compliance department. She has oversight for all AML, Elder Financial Exploitation and anti-fraud regulatory training efforts for the enterprise, as well as state regulatory fraud filing for Nationwide Financial.
- She is a graduate of Franklin University and holds bachelor’s degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration and is currently halfway through her master’s degree program in Data Analytics. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), an Associate at the Life Management Institute (ALMI) and SAS Tier 2 certified in Data Analytics. She is also a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and a Board member for the non-profit charity The House Foundation.
- Hun Yi
- Supervisory Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation
- Hun Yi began his career as a Research Associate at the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University. He joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation about fifteen years ago, having worked at the Pittsburg Division, Chicago Division, and the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. He is currently with White Collar Crime and Health Care Fraud at the Cincinnati Division but his experience also includes work in Counterterrorism/Weapons of Mass Destruction.
- He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology.
- Paul Toepfer
- Intelligence Analyst, Federal Bureau of Investigation
- Paul Toepfer has worked at the FBI for 15 years, having started at the FBI Laboratory as a chemist. He transferred to an intelligence analyst role at FBI HQ as WMD and military technology subject matter expert. He then transferred to the Cincinnati Division in 2013 and started working financial crimes in the Columbus area. He recently switched focus to all threats in rural eastern and south eastern Ohio.

- Session 2: Cybersecurity
- Description: This session will focus on providing an introduction to cybersecurity. The audience will be educated on key industry trends as they relate to cybersecurity and risk management.

- Camille Martin
- Consultant, Cybertechnology Professional, Nationwide Insurance
- Camille (Cami) Martin has been at Nationwide Insurance for 27 years and has held various roles in IT. These range from Developer, Database Administration, Compliance and currently Information Risk Management and Cyber Security. Each role has included a strong appreciation and understanding of proper risk/security controls and practices. As of today, Cami has been supporting our Workforce and Legal Technology Business area as a Risk Lead.
- Adam Grube
- Director, IRM Risk Leader, Nationwide Insurance
- Adam Grube has been at Nationwide Insurance for 15 years and has held various leadership roles in IT. These range from Process Governance to Application Product Management at an Enterprise level. He recently joined Information Risk Management from Infrastructure and Operations where he led the Technology Inventory and Release Management Services organization. Each role has interacted with IRM in various capacities and has allowed Adam to build a strong appreciation for proper risk practices.
- Camille Martin
- Session 3: The Neuroscience of Leading Change in Your Organization
- Description: There is a neuroscience to changing behaviors for the long term. Brain research discoveries indicate how organizational change can be successful. When you learn these tools, you can be equipped to transform yourself, your co-workers and your work cultures to see lasting change. In this workshop, you will learn the specific methodologies to implement successful change and help your company shift from Records Management to Information Governance. As Records and Information Governance Professionals, we can be the catalysts to shift organizations towards collaborative knowledge management. This interactive session will include real life discussions and problem solving.

- Debbie Gantt
- Records Manager, Jones Day
- Debbie Gantt works as the Records Manager for Jones Day in Cleveland. As a leader with over 30 years professional experience, she has previously held several board positions in the ARMA Greater Columbus Chapter.
- She has a passion for improving operational processes in companies. What she discovered is that process improvement can only be successful with the help of PEOPLE. But change is not easy for people satisfied with the status quo. Debbie has figured out how to encourage meaningful and lasting change. She teaches these neuroscience breakthroughs and explains how leaders and organizations can transform and grow their cultures for the long term.
