Membership

Benefits of ARMA Membership: ARMA provides education, products, research, regulatory review and services to further enhance RIM careers and the profession. By joining the Greater Columbus Chapter, you get to know others in the area who work in your field. The Columbus Chapter meets once each month to tour a Records Management operation or to listen to a guest speaker.

Membership Re-designation: ARMA has a membership re designation policy. A company can re-designate a person’s membership to another employee for 6 months. At the end of that time, the new member will be sent an invoice to renew for one year beginning at that time. The original member will still keep their membership until it expires and can choose at that time to renew or not. To request that a member be re-designated, you must contact ARMA directly to request the re-designation.

Educational Opportunities:  ARMA sponsors an annual International Conference and Expo, that includes multiple tracks at different levels, over 70 educational sessions, and a vendor exhibit hall with demonstrations of products and services. Members can save as much as 20% on conference fees. ARMA also hosts a Joint symposium with PRISM, industry-specific programs and on-line training courses. Members receive the Information Management Journal and InfoPro Online, filled with articles and information about Records and Information Management.

Networking: One of the greatest benefits is finding and getting to know RIM colleagues locally and nationally. The ability to pick up the phone and call another person who practices RIM to discuss work-related questions, approaches, problems and solutions is invaluable. Using ARMA’s online Member Resources, networking is made easy.

ARMA Bookstore: ARMA International publishes numerous books, manager briefings, standards, and guidelines for the RIM profession. In addition, home study courses, videos and RIM-related publications are provided through the ARMA Bookstore. Members save as much as 25% on these publications.

Industry Specific Groups: Knowing how someone in your industry is handling RIM problems is invaluable. ARMA has industry specific groups that can link you to colleagues in your industry. ISG’s include industries such as banking, legal, insurance, petroleum, transportation, insurance, etc.

CareerLink: ARMA International’s CareerLink connects you to the world’s premier records and information management job bank. View all current positions by geographic region, state, or type of position desired. http://careers.arma.org/
